I am pretty sure getting one of these embossers with Mr. Smith and my initials is a necessity...

I think you have to wait till after you're married to use the S. You should check the ettiquette book but I'm pretty sure. Until you're officially Mrs. Smith all the gifts are yours unless it's a boy/girl shower. You can register for stationary and the embosser or when you buy your invitations you also purchase your thank yous as Mr. & Mrs.. That's how they use to do it in the old days when I got married.
